How to clean a concrete driveway

Is your driveway covered with oil and grease stains?
You can erase years of grease and grime in a single day with a high-pressure washer.

Here's how:
1. Use a stiff broom to clear debris and excess dirt or dust from surface. Repeat this process with a softer broom.
2. Cover nearby exterior walls and doors with plastic sheeting and masking tape. This will protect doors and walls from loose debris as well as any accidental paint or stain removal from pressure washer.
3. Thoroughly read the instruction manual for your specific pressure washer. Each is different and may require special preparation, assembly or attachments.
4. Ensure proper cleaning by using a degreaser. Apply according to the manufacturer's recommended instructions. Wear safety gloves and long pants.
5. Connect supplied pressure-washer hose and wand to pressure washer. Next, attach garden hose to pressure washer’s water supply, then turn on water.
6. Pressure-wash concrete by holding down spray handle, working your way back and forth from one side of concrete surface to the other, overlapping each stroke by 10 to 15 centimetres.
TIP:
For tougher stains such as paint, hold tip 8 to 10 centimetres from concrete surface, moving with slower, nearly still strokes to ensure removal.

10. Pour sealer into a paint pan, attach extender pole to your paint roller and, starting in the middle of area, roll sealer out from middle to all edges of concrete. Allow 24 hours before parking on surface.
